Operation Antique

The online aspect of Operation Antique - a joint operation by Sussex and Wiltshire Police that has been running on Virtual Bumblebee since the end of April 2006 - is now drawing to a close.

During the course of the operation Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley (who police Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire) both used the system to make positive identifications of stolen property, helping to solve crime in their own areas as well as those of the originating forces.

The map above shows the coverage achieved, and like the last post about Sussex/Surrey/Kent cooperation and success, illustrates the system's capacity to facilitate public-facing, pro-active, officer driven, "bottom up" inter-force cooperation.
